Heat Holders

Please note this isn't a Sponsored post, This is my own review :).

Anyone out there that suffers with Bad circulation, Raynauds or just cold feet, know how painful it is and it can get you down. I wanted to share with you what I think are the best socks I've found that keep my feet warm. This cold weather we are having at the moment (also called Winter ;) ) has been playing havoc with my feet, I've been living in these socks.

Ever since I can remember I've suffered with Raynauds and I have tried so many other types/brands of socks (who knew there could be so many!)  to try and keep my feet warm, in extreme circumstances I have had to use a hot water bottle, which is very difficult to keep on your feet all day. Last year my mum introduced me to these socks and this winter, I've finally got to use them.

Heat Holders say they are 'the warmest Thermal sock in the world' I agree with them. Heat Holders are Perfect. They are so comfortable and soft, with a 2.34 tog rating they keep your feet so warm.

They also sell pairs that are non slip. I haven't purchased a non slip pair yet. I haven't slipped in the 'normal' pairs, but with me, I'm not taking any odds ;)

The only down side is they can be a bit too thick to wear with some footwear I own :(. But, They are perfect to wear with your wellies when you are walking the dogs.

You can find Heat Holders in Matalan, Sports Direct and The Range (There are probably other stores, but this is where I find them. Please let me know in the comments if you know other stores that stock them.)

Have you tried Heat Holders? Do you have any tips to help with cold feet? Please leave me a comment below, I would love to read them :)

Banana and Peanut Butter Birthday Cake

Anybody who knows me, knows when I find a recipe of something I might like. I always amend the Hell out of it and make it into something I will like :). lol Seriously, Most of the time I have to amend ingredients to make things Gluten and Dairy Free.

For my Birthday (which was the 25th) my Mr. made me my Birthday Cake. We normally use this Recipe (which was originally a recipe for Banana Muffins) to make Banana, Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate Chip Muffins. But for my cake, decided to make one big Banana and Peanut Butter cake.

I really like this cake, Its not too sweet like most Free From cakes are. Its easy and quick to make.

It does contain an egg so I can't say its suitable for Vegans, but it is suitable for Vegetarians

Do you have a habit of amending recipes? Let me know if you have a go at making this cake.

Motivation Monday

Ok I agree, It is nice to see a low number on the Scales and to keep track on how much we weigh. But don't let the number on the scales change how you feel the rest of the day. The scales don't show the whole truth!.

If the scales say you have gained, there are so many other reasons why, eg heavy meal, you have just eaten, water weight, The time of the month, lack of sleep, stress, the list goes on.

Our body weight can change about an average of +2lb though out the day (it can be more) and is totally normal. So if you do weigh yourself pick the same day and time.

The best way to record your Fat loss is by taking measurements of yourself, I personally do this once a month.
And/or, use an old item of clothing (or new if you want), that used to fit you and go by how that item fits you. I know my main goal is to fit back into my entire wardrobe.

And/or take Photos of yourself, once a month and see if you can notice any differences. This is also great motivation, Its great to look back to see how far you have come. :)

1lb of Muscle looks a lot better then 1lb of Fat.

Fitness Journey Update (2014/5 Progress Pic)

I haven't done many, if any Progress Pictures last year. Mainly because I've been taking pictures for my Yoga challenges. I've been seeing improvements through them.
Like the beginning of last year, I've put the outfit on again to see if there is any differences.

I still remember that day, when I finally 'squeezed' into this outfit, I was so happy! I don't have a before picture when I was bigger then this, sometimes I wish I did, just so I can see I far I have actually come.

I'm so proud of myself, seeing how far I have come. But, comparing my progress picture to last years, I think I look slimmer in 2014? But I know I'm not, but then I look at the bottoms and I can see the bottoms are looser in the 2015 picture. Plus I think the angle is different.

The best thing I've done is give up with the 'Weightloss Journey' completely and just focus on improving my overall health and fitness. Even though I no longer focus on the scales. Last year I finally got rid of all the weight  Fat I gained (Health and Fitness post). I'm finally fitting into all my old clothes in my wardrobe, okay, not all, there are still some that I found tight before the weight gain and with some of my clothes, I'm finding are getting too big :) Yay for me ;).

With my workouts, I've finally found something that works for me and that's Yoga. I've witnessed my body change so much in the short amount of time since I've started yoga than I have the past 2-3 years since my 'journey' started. I recommend for everyone to try it. I'm probably sounding like a broken record. But, my fitness journey is mainly now Yoga and a little bit of weight training.

My diet/lifestyle is well, I like to say mainly Vegan. But, I can't say that because I still eat eggs so I have no idea what to call it ;) and obviously still Gluten Free :(. Its been 'fun' changing my diet and experimenting with recipes, Its actually helped me learn more about nutrition :). I seriously can't put in to words the feeling I get when I find out I CAN eat something, lol, seriously I miss so much food. Luckily brands are being more specific with there labelling. Some brands just mention vinegar in the ingredients, I need to know what vinegar they have used. So that's a Big Thumbs up  :)

I said last year in a previous post, I want to start Jogging again ~ That never happened, I find it really boring. But, I do really need to work on my Cardio. That's one of my goals for this year ~ Improve my cardio. I've finally (after 6 years) got my bike at my flat, so hopefully my man and I can go on bike rides.

For 2015 I don't have many goals. Just carry on with my Yoga practice. I'm looking forward to seeing quite a few (okay, lets be honest) Lots of progress pictures. My top Yoga goal was to be able to do a Headstand this year, That, I have now achieved :) but it does need improving, So I'm now changing my goal to aim for a Handstand. And Cardio, I really need want to improve my cardio, seriously its embarrassing.

Do you have any Fitness goals? Did you manage to meet any of last years goals? Leave me a comment, I would love to know :)

If you want to start living a Healthy Lifestyle, start now. Your future self will thank you for it.

Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015

2014, What can I say? We've had our ups and downs but the main thing is I've learnt a lot!

The main thing I've learnt is my body Really doesn't like being told what to do! This year I can say my body is completely medication free! Apart from the odd headache tablet, there is no meds in this system :) That's the great news, the bad news is its taking a long time for my body to sort itself out! It still is. But, really that is also a good thing (I'm Staying positive! you might notice a pattern here ;) ). I have learnt this year that our bodies really are weird and wonderful. I've learnt to listen to my body, it tells you what's wrong and what it needs. I'm still to this day am shocked that a little pill that is supposed to help you can do so much and actually mess up your body. Certain meds really are not suited for everyone. I'm not going to go into too much details, I don't want to put people off of medication. Everyone is different. Do what you feel is right for you.

There really has been a lot of 'silver linings' with going through this withdrawal. One of them is, confidence.

With my body still sorting its self out, I think it messed up my fitness journey (a little bit) I struggled only a few months through out the year, but I got back on track. I'm really proud of myself with the mental side. I'm no longer focused on what the scale says and I try (sometimes trying my hardest!) to stay positive, look for the good in things. In every situation you will find the good, you might not find it straight away, but, its there.
One of my main goals for 2014, was be Confident! not be more, but be :). For too long I've worried/cared what other people think and now, I really don't care. Okay, I've had a fair few tests on that the past year and yes I failed (some miserably) but the part I noticed the most is I got over them pretty quickly :). (Mental Health Post).
Also starting this blog, I'm so glad I started. I just write what ever I want and I don't even know if people are reading it. Writing the Mental Health post was the one post that took a lot of confidence to write and really, I only wrote a little bit.

I hope I have inspired or have helped someone start living a healthy/healthier lifestyle :).

So here we are 2015, Hello :). I'm looking forward to seeing what you will bring and what you might throw at me.

I'm ready
